Hungarian scientist Katalin Karikó is the winner of the South Korean "Park MahnHoon Award" given by the IVI - SK Bioscience. The award giving ceremony - in which the Hungarian scientist was able to participate in the form of a video message - took place on April 25, 2022 at the headquarters of the International Vaccine Institute in Seoul. On the event, Ambassador Dr. Mózes Csoma briefly presented the career of Katalin Karikó and mentioned the international successes of Hungarian science, highlighting the Nobel laureates of Hungarian descent. Former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon also attended the event.
