Hungarian products at the 2013 Seoul Friendship Fair

The Embassy of Hungary in Seoul participated in the „Street of Flavors” program of the Seoul Friendship Fair 2013, a cultural event organized by Seoul Metropolitan Government on the 4-5 May 2013.

Visitors of the Hungarian booth had the chance to buy Tokaj wines from the Degenfeld winery and delicious sandwiches prepared with Pick salami and paprika sausage. Furthermore visitors were invited to taste Hungarian canned food products that might be on the shelves of Korean stores soon, such as fish soup, goulash soup, Székely style cabbage and layered cabbage. Volunteers of the traditional Hungarian flavors were asked to fill out a short survey.

The 2013 international event has attracted about 400.000 visitors. The Hungarian booth was very popular with its appetizing sandwiches, delighting both the eyes and the taste buds of onlookers. Our staff has prepared and served around 500 portion of sandwiches, as well as 30 bottles of wine. 160 surveys had been collected from those tasting the canned food products.

Herewith we would like to thank the support of the Degenfeld Winery and the Pick Szeged Salamy Factory from Hungary, their Korean partners E-Land and Maeil Dairies, as well as the valuable contribution of the volunteers operating the booth during the fair.
