Performance of the Cantus Corvinus Vocal Ensemble in Seoul

The choir of the Korean Kodály Society and members of the Hungarian Cantus Corvinus Vocal Ensemble gave a successful joint concert on 12 September 2014. The concert entitled „Hungarian Arirang” was arranged by the Korean Kodály Society and was held at the prestigious Sejong Art Center. The program of the concert included music pieces by Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály, Hungarian folksongs, pieces of Korean composers and Korean traditional music. The highlight of the evening was the debut performance of “Hungarian Arirang”, created by Korean composer Lee Young-jo, who was present at the occasion.

Korea Study Abroad Fair 2014

The Study Abroad Korea Fair 2014 was organized between 11-14 September 2014. The fair that took place at two locations, first in Busan (BEXCO), then in Seoul (COEX) welcomed Hungarian participants for the first time. In the coordination of the Campus Hungary Program, a delegation representing 10 Hungarian universities attended the fair in both cities. The joint presence of Hungarian universities provided a great opportunity for the development of inter-institutional collaboration with Korean universities, as well as for the screening of potential student exchange programs and capacity. Visitors were mostly interested in business and engineering study possibilities, as well as in the master programs offered by Hungarian universities.

Budapest Saxophone Quartet performance in Seoul

Upon the invitation of Korea International Wind Band Festival organized by the PAX Cultural Academy, introducing talented international artists yet to be well-known to the Korean audience 'Budapest Saxophone Quartet' who has successfully debuted in 2013 was invited to perform in Korea again. The Quartet gave a concert on 17 September 2014 at Seoul Art Center. Hungarian Ambassador Gábor Csaba visited the event too.

Hankook Tire special concert at KBS Music Hall

A special concert was held at KBS Hall in Seoul to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Hungary and the Republic of Korea on 27 September 2014. The concert was initiated and supported by Hankook Tire Co.Ltd. The program performed by the KBS Symphonic Orchestra and the young performers of Allkidstra included several music pieces by Hungarian composers, as well as the national anthem of Hungary. The concert attracted about 1000 visitors including several representatives of the diplomatic corps in Seoul.

Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition 2014

On the invitation of his Korean partner, General Tibor Benkő PhD. Chief of Defence paid a visit to Seoul between 24-27 September 2014. During his visit General Benkő was invited to meet Admiral Choi Yoon-Hee, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as well as Lt. General Kim Yo Hwan, Army Chief of Staff and visited the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition 2014. It was the first high ranking military visit after Hungarian Defence Minister Csaba Hende paid a visit to South Korea in November 2013. The visit was intended to strengthen the cooperation of the two countries in the field of defense.
