South Korean citizens may enter the territory of the Republic of Hungary without a visa and may stay there for a maximum period of ninety days during the six months from the date of his/her first entry without a separate permit provided that he/she meets the conditions required for staying. However, Korean citizens with the intention to enter employment or to stay more then 90 days in Hungary DO need visas to travel to Hungary.
An airport transit visa is required to transit at Budapest Ferihegy International Airport. Although nationals of most countries are exempt from this regulation, please, check with the Hungarian Embassy in Seoul to verify if you are required a visa for transiting at Budapest International Airport.
The processing of the visas may require a longer period of time. It could take even 30 days (In case of incoming visas 60 days).
The visa may be used within its period of validity. The period of validity of the visa shall be calculated from its date of issue. The visas marked as "C" have an expiration date of up to 6 months. The actual expiration date established by the consul is written into the visa.
Visas at Hungarian border crossing points are not issued.
All documents which are to be presented in connection with the visa application shall be original. No copies, notarized or not, shall be accepted. Any request for waiving this requirement shall be rejected without further consideration.
The visa application shall be submitted by using the prescribed form to the Hungarian representation competent according to the permanent or usual place of stay of the foreigner (see chart below). The visa shall be submitted in person, but the visa issuing authority may waive the obligation of personal submission.
