Legalization of signature - Embassy of Hungary

Legalization of signature

Legalization of signature of a private individual

Consular services at the embassy are by appointment only. You can book an appointment here.

I. Procedure

During the legalization of signature, the applicant will either sign the document in the presence of the consul or, if already signed, recognizes the signature on the document as theirs in the presence of the consul.

During the procedure the consul only checks the identity of the signatory person, they do not examine the contents of the document and are not responsible for it.

The applicant should bring the following to the appointment.

1. document(s) to be signed
2. valid passport or identity card

If you wish to receive the documents by post, a fee of 5500 KRW applies, which is to be paid in cash in person.

II. Consular fee

The fee for the legalization of a signature is €30. Detailed information regarding the method of payment will be provided during the appointment.

The consular fee for signature legalization is to be paid per each legalization.

However, if a document has to be signed multiple times (for example, on every page of a contract), the legalization fee is only charged once.
