4th Student Conference at the Hungarian Faculty of HUFS

The Hungarian Faculty of Hankuk University of Foreign studies organized its 4th Student Conference on the 29 November 2013. Participants of the conference were welcomed by the speech of Ambassador Gábor Csaba and professor Park Sooyoung, head of the Hungarian Faculty of HUFS. The students of the faculty commemorated the Hungarian revolution of 1956 and prepared colorful presentations about their experiences in Hungary. The presentations were followed by synchronic movie shows in Hungarian language, the most talented performers received special awards.

Habsburg treasures in the National Palace Museum of Korea  

The National Palace Museum of Korea opened its special exhibition “Magnificent Life of the Hungarian Aristocracy Under the Reign of the Habsburg Dynasty in the 17-19th Century” on 2 December 2013. The exhibition is the first joint project of the Hungarian National Museum and the National Palace Museum of Korea, displaying beautiful treasures of the Hungarian Court from the 17th to 19th centuries. The 190 objects from the collection of the historic Hungarian National Museum introduced at this exhibition are precious treasures that convey Hungary’s history and culture.

Besides the Habsburg treasures a smaller scale touristic exhibition about Hungary, posters and a special video presentation about the Hungarian National Museum is awaiting visitors in the lobby of the museum. The exhibition at the National Palace Museum of Korea will be open to the public from 3 December 2013 to 9 March 2014, after that the collection will be moved to the Museum of Keimyung University in Daegu. Latter will host the exhibition from 1 April 2014 to 14 June 2014.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition welcome speeches were held by Lee Gwi-young, Director of the National Palace Museum of Korea; dr. László Csorba, Director of the Hungarian National Museum; Gábor Csaba, Ambassador of Hungary in Seoul and Lee Sang Jin, President of the UNESCO Delegation to Korea. Additionally, the director of the Hungarian National Museum, Dr. László Csorba will give special lectures about the history of Hungary and the Hungarian National Museum on 3 December 2013 and 16 January 2014.

Tour & Leisure Sports Fair 2013

The Embassy of Hungary was present at the Incheon Tour & Leisure Sports Fair held between 29 November – 1 December 2013. H.E. Gábor Csaba, Ambassador of Hungary in Seoul participated at the opening ceremony and presented the Hungarian booth in person to the members of the VIP delegation, inviting them to taste Hungarian wines and salami.

The central promotional element of the booth, posters and flyers draw visitors’ attention to the joint exhibition of the Hungarian National Museum and the National Palace Museum of Korea titled “Magnificent Life of the Hungarian Aristocracy Under the Reign of the Habsburg Dynasty in the 17-19th Century”, opening on 2 December 2013.
